Karuppnadhi Reservoir was constructed across the Karuppanadhi river a tributary of Hanumanadhi at the foot of Western Ghats near Krishnapuram village of Tenkasi taluk in Thirunelveli District. It confluences with Hanumanadhi near Sambavarvadakarai just d/s of Urmezhagiyan anicut. Hanumanadhi is a tributary of Chittar which is a tributary of Thamiraparani River.
By this reservoir Tirunelveli District is benefitted. Tenkasi taluk is benefitted by this reservoir.
The foundation stone for this reservoir was laid by the then Hon’ble Minister for Public Works Thiru. Sadhik Badsha on 07.01.1971 and completed during May 1976. The first release of water was during July 1976.
