About Kesarigulihallah Dam

The Kesarigulihalla Dam is constructed across Kesarigulihalla river near Beluhalli in Thirumalvadi village in Palacode taluk of Dharmapuri District. Kesarigulihalla River originates in dense forest in the Halligothan Range forest and confluences with Chinnar River which in turn confluences with Cauvery. Total length of Kesarigulihalla river is 25km. The reservoir serves for a total ayacut of 4000 Acres in Dharmapuri District.

This reservoir benefits Dharmapuri District. Palacode taluk is benefitted by this reservoir.

The Kesarigulihalla Dam works were commenced on 25.12.1982 and completed on 21.12.1985. The Dam was inaugurated by the then Hon’ble Chief Minister Thiru.M.G.Ramachandran.
