This dam merely serves as a ideal dam for the Chennai City Water Supply. The reservoir receives water from its own catchment area and through off take canal from LS 2200m of Kandaleru Poondi Canal. This dam is located in Gummudipoondi Taluk of Thiruvallur District.
The construction of dam was completed in the year 2020.
