The Kodumudiyar Reservoir was constructed across Thamraiyar at the confluence point two jungle streams namely Kodumudiyar and Kombaiyar at the foot of Kalakad Western ghat downstream side in Thirukkurangudi Village of Nanguneri Taluk in Tirunelveli District.
By this reservoir Tirunelveli District is benefitted. Nanguneri and Radhapuram taluks are benefitted by this reservoir.
The construction of dam started on December 1996 by the then Hon’ble Minister and completed on 11.02.2004 and inaugurated by the then Hon’ble Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu Selvi.J.Jayalalithaa. The first water release was during December 2004.
