About Nagavathi Reservoir

The Nagavathi Dam is constructed across Nagavathi river. Nagavathy river confluences with Cauvery just before the Stanely Reservoir constructed across Cauvery River.

The main canal which takes off on the Left flank of the dam with the head discharge of 39.80 c/s to irrigate 1993 acres, The left main canal-I runs 6.20 Km and irrigates 294.30 acres ,The left main canal-II runs 10.975 km and irrigates 699.09acres and the Right main canal runs 18.98 km and irrigates 999.61 acres in Dharmapuri District The ayacut area under the scheme is 1993 Acres.

This dam benefits Dharmapuri Taluk & District.

The Nagavathy Dam works were commenced on 05.11.1981 and completed during 1987. The dam was inaugurated by the then Hon’ble Chief Minister Thiru.M.G.Ramachandran.
