The Sirumalaiyar odai Reservoir was constructed across the Sirumalaiyar odai near Rajathanikottai hamlet of Oruthattu village in Nilakkottai taluk in Dindigul district. Sirumalaiyar odai originates from Sirumalai Hills in Dindigul District.
By this reservoir Dindigul District is benefitted. Nilakottai taluk is benefitted by this reservoir.
The construction of the dam was commenced on 17.08.1999 and completed on 22.02.2009.
