Uppar Reservoir is constructed across Peramangalam Tank surplus course and Omandur Tank surplus course which orginates from the high land of Santhur and Pulivalam Reserved Forest in Thuraiyur Taluk at Trichy district. The Uppar Reservoir surplus course joins with Uppar River and after traversing at a distance of 48Km from origin towards southeast direction and falls into Coleroon River in Trichy District.
This reservoir benefits Tiruchy District. Lalgudi taluk is benefitted by this reservoir.
The construction of dam was started in the year 1980 and completed in the year 1986.
