PRE PROJECT CONDITION

  1. Total length of anicut 280 m .
  2. Damaged length of anicut 110 m.
  3. This anicut was constructed with concrete without proper  foundation. Hence, the middle portion of anicut  for a length of 110 m was damaged.

FARMERS OPINION

   


Thiru. Annadurai (President, Water Users Association): The Palkulam Tank is having an ayacut of  56.66 Ha with the capacity of 10.62 Mcft. But due to poor standard of tank bund and heavy leakage in the sluices and in weir water not able to store to its full capacity which leads to Gap in the Ayacut. Now after the complection of reconstruction of sluices and repair of weir the leakage in the sluices and seepage in the weir has been arrested completly. Due to this, last year this tank had been filled with water almost to F.T.L.
