பற்றி குண்டாறு நீர்த்தேக்கம்

Gundar Reservoir was constructed across Gundar river near Kannupulimettu village of Shencottai Taluk in Tirunelveli District. The Main stream Gundar originates from the Mundan koil Mottai on Western Ghats and supplemented by a number of small tributaries and confluences with Hariharanadhi. The total length of Gundar is 7.8 kms.

By this reservoir Tirunelveli District is benefitted. Sencottai taluk is benefitted by this reservoir.

The foundation stone for this reservoir was laid by the then Hon’ble Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu Thiru. M.Karunanidhi on 16.01.1974 and completed in the year 30.06.1983. The first release of water was during July 1984.
