The Manimuthar Reservior was constructed across Manimuthar River originates on the eastern slopes of Western Ghats in Tirunelveli District of the state of Tamil Nadu in southern India. It is a major tributary of the Thamirabarani River.

By this reservoir Tirunelveli District is benefitted. Ambasamudram, Tirunelveli, Nanguneri, Tiruchendur and Srivaikungam taluks are benefitted by this reservoir.

The construction of dam was started by November 1950 and completed on January 1958.
