The Sathaiyar odai Reservoir was constructed across Sathaiyar odai river near Konapatti Village in Vadipatti Taluk of Madurai District. Sathaiyar odai origates from Sembatti Reserve Forest in Madurai District near Vaguthu hills.

By this reservoir Madurai District is benefitted. Vadipatti taluk is benefitted by this reservoir.

The construction of the dam was commenced during 1962 and completed by 1965 and it was inaugurated by the then Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu Thiru.K.Kamaraj. The first water release was during 1965.
