பற்றி சோலையாறு அணை

Sholayar River is one of the main tributaries of Chalakudi River. It has its source in Valparai Estate and runs in a westernly direction for about 48.28km before it joins the Parambikulam River. The Sholayar Dam constructed (maximum height 345 ft.) across the river Sholayar. This dam is the highest Dam in Tamil Nadu.

By this reservoir Coimbatore and Tiruppur Districts are benefitted. Sulur, Tiruppur, Dharapuram, Kinathukadavu, pollachi Udumalpet, Kangeyam, Madathukulam and Palladam taluks are benefitted by this reservoir.

The construction of dam was started on 19.12.1961 and completed on 19.03.1976
